God wrote a story for my life I didn’t want.

As a child, I had the fairytale life planned.  You know, the one with a white house, matching picket fence. 2.5 kids, college funds, perfect husband.  Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.

What happened?

Things didn’t go exactly as I planned. Okay Okay! Things don’t even come close to how I planned them. God must not have gotten the memo.  Or maybe he’s mixed up the knee mail again and gave me someone else’s life.  I keep getting dealt crappy cards. Can’t God see that it’s so and so’s turn for a trial?  Dang it, I’ve had my share.  Surely I don’t deserve this? I’m not a bad person. Don’t you want me happy, God?

Notice anything about that last paragraph?  It’s all about me. ME.  MY happiness, MY wants, My desires, My needs.  I’m even telling God how much to put in my plate. I’m complaining about the unfairness and even pointing out others that need the trials. ME. ME. ME.

Guess what?  It’s not about me!  It’s about HIM and HIS plan for the life that HE assigned to me.  I’ve whined, complained, tried to barter, pleaded about a life that is TEMPORARY.  This is not our home.  We’re just passing through.  And truth is, I can’t find one bit of scripture that says life is fair and that there will be no trials.

I don’t fully understand God’s plan for my life.  In fact, I gave up trying to understand.  I do know that every trial that He’s sent me through  has been for HIS glory.   HIS glory.  And I must focus on that.

My family can’t stand to hear me say this, but one day I will soar.  I’ll soar on eagle’s wings. What a day that will be!  No more sorrow. No more pain. Hallelujah!  Until then, I must go along with God’s plans(like I have a say so🤣!).

As we were headed home from church today, I looked over and noticed tears just flowing freely from Preston’s eyes.   He was singing “I Can Only Imagine”.

I can only imagine when that day comes, that I won’t even be able to remember all the pain and sorrow.  I’ll be in HIS presence…. nothing else will matter.  Nothing at all!

I Can Only Imagine
MercyMe

I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk, by your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When you face is before me
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
Surrounded by You glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine when that day comes
When I find myself standing in the Son
I can only imagine when all I would do is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for You, Jesus
Or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for You, Jesus
Or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine when all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine
